SWOF Farmer Survey Highlights 2021

We pride ourselves on being a farmer-focused program, so it’s important that we check in regularly with our farmer partners about their experience with the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund.

We distributed a survey to the participating farmers from our 2021 season and were pleased to hear back from more than 61% of them. The feedback we received, both positive and critical, is essential to evolve the program into something that both works for farmers and drives quantifiable environmental outcomes.

Speaking of outcomes, nearly 7/10 of respondents to the survey shared that they would not have implemented the selected conservation practices on their farms in 2021 without the help of Soil and Water Outcomes Fund.

One of our largest goals is to help farmers find new revenue streams to help supplement their cash crops. We know that a recommendation from a fellow farmer counts for a lot, so we’re honored that 91% of survey respondents are very likely or somewhat likely to recommend the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund to another farmer.

Our boots-on-the-ground agronomy and measurement and verification teams means that farmers enrolled in our program are never hung out to dry when it comes to implementing new conservation measures or when natural causes dictate a change of plans. More than 90% of survey respondents reported that they received adequate guidance from our team on agronomic best practices.

Our payment system is designed to help farmers implement new conservation practices in the most hassle-free way possible. We deliver half the payment up front and half after outcomes are verified. This payment structue proved quite popular with participants, scoring an 8.1 on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the most satisfied).

While we are always striving for continued growth, the fact that farmers who have worked with us in the past want to continue to do so in the future is the ultimate point of pride for us. Of all the farmers surveyed for 2021, 96% are leaning towards re-enrolling with us for 2022.

We want to thank every farmer to took the time to complete our survey. Your participation and engagement in this process is integral to our continued success. We look forward to working with you again in 2022!
